Dublin’s 2007 Citizens and Organization of the Year

The City of Dublin is continually re-investing in the community and recognizing it’s citizens for their accomplishments. This past Friday night, Dublin held the 2007 Volunteer Dinner and Awards Banquet at the Dublin Senior Center. The theme of the evening was Mardi Gras – the colors were bold and the decor was inventive. Dublin’s fabulous Assistant City Manager Joni Pattillo coordinated the magical evening as the volunteers, high achievers and sterling organizations of Dublin were recognized for their respective contributions in 2007. The winners for 2007 were:
- Citizen of the Year – Rich Guarienti – member of the Parks commission.
- Young Citizen of the Year – Terrance van Tuyl – a 2nd grader at Dougherty Elementary school that raised over $500 and rode 40 miles in the 2007 Waves to Wine Multiple Sclerosis bike ride fundraiser.
- Organization of the Year – The School of Imagination and Happy Talkers – a wonderful school that provides adaptive programs that are customized to maximize each student’s learning experience to help children reach their full potential.
Each of these award recipients – and all of the nominees – provide a glimpse into the best that Dublin’s community has to offer.
