More Info on the Fitness Club at The Promenade

Here is a bit more information about the 50,000 sq. ft. “lifestyle fitness resort” that will be opened at the Promenade in 2009. Please click here to see the entire article on businesswire.com.
“The luxurious fitness club will feature upscale amenities and services including eight dedicated studios for group exercise, yoga, Pilates and cycling. Personal training, wellness and nutrition counseling will be an integral part of the fitness services offered. A resort style pool; plush locker rooms; a day spa with nine treatment rooms and a café with healthy menu options will complement the total wellness experience.
Members will also enjoy the convenience of a childcare center and concierge service, allowing them to fully integrate fitness into their lifestyle. The concierge service will provide the link to a broad range of fitness adventures from international cycling vacations to scuba diving as well as traditional adult activities commonly associated with quality fitness clubs.
Leisure Sports will own and operate its new fitness club, which has yet to be named. The new club will be a sister club of ClubSport Pleasanton, a facility that has been keeping the community fit for over 25 years. ClubSport is a brand that Tri-Valley residents recognize and count on. Members of the new club will enjoy reciprocal privileges at ClubSport and Renaissance ClubSport properties, expanding their fitness options to include tennis, basketball and other sports available at the larger Leisure Sports owned facilities.
All components of the project are currently in the design stage and development plans will be submitted shortly to the City of Dublin. Commencement of construction is slated for late 2008 and opening expected in 2009.”

I’m all for a club Sport but I have to ask. How much of the promenade’s space (Dublin’s NEW Down Town) will be used for this project? I was hoping it would be more like Santana Rows’ Club ONE. which is above all the shops.

In Retraction. I feel this club would be an anchor for the promenade. a central attraction to people from all over and huge revenue drag for the City. This facility will not only bring people to Dublin and provide tax dollars to the city , but it will also attract would be patrons to other businesses, such as dry cleaners, restaurants, clothing stores, jewelers and of course a Starbucks or Other Local Coffee Shop (I would prefer and Locally owned Cafe). but Starbucks will do. I wonder where they’ll put a gas station?? Maybe Club sport will have a Fill up Service too.

I enjoy the content of this site and read it regularly but it seriously bothers me that none of the articles are dated. I may be missing the date somewhere but EVERY article should have the date the article was written at the top of the page.

Just FYI. The published date is at the bottom of each article (right above keywords).
