Quick Update on Competitive Pool Location

by John M. Zukoski  |  Topics:  Parks

The Dublin City Council voted unanimously this past Tuesday night (3/4/08) at the Council meeting to keep the planned competitive pool at Emerald Glen park in East Dublin. This was in line with the Parks Commission’s recommendation. Dublin’s school board President, Denis King, spoke to the Council in favor of relocating the competitive pool to the Dublin Swim Center (adjacent to Dublin High School). However, the Council balanced the cost to move the pool to the Dublin Swim Center ($1.4M) with the convenience of having the pool next to Dublin High School and determined that it was in the best interest of Dublin residents to keep the planned competitive pool at Emerald Glen park.
