Here are some quick updates on Devany Square and The Promenade:

Devany Square – this 2-acre gem is on target to be open for the public by the summer of this year. Devany Square will be a 2-acre park on the corner of Finnian Way and Chancery Lane that borders the soon-to-be-built Promenade.

The Promenadephase 1 of the Promenade, which will have 110,000 sq. ft. of upscale retail, restaurants, and office space (including a 50,000 sq. ft. “lifestyle fitness resort”) will be located at the north end of the strip along Central Parkway. Phase 1 was initially expected to start on the south end of the strip along Dublin Blvd. Some of the preliminary grading and preparation appears to have already begun. The picture above was taken shortly after a truck had been digging up and displacing soil in the Phase 1 area.

John, do you really think we need more parks? I mean there’s Emerald Glen, the recently opened dog park, and now more to come. Also, it doesn’t make sense to extend Emerald Park across the street when it’s already a huge park. We also have the upcoming Fallon Sports Park.

As I’ve previously stated, it’d be fabulous to have like a downtown Los Gatos or downtown Walnut Creek type atmosphere with upscale shops, restaurants, and a place where young people can socialize. That’d attract a lot of people out here.

Hi Kat – my personal preference would be to see a shopping atmosphere like the portion of Walnut Creek’s downtown w/ the shopping village that starts at Bing Crosby’s and wraps around the Macy’s or maybe something like the Danville Livery & Mercantile. Having a Bing Crosby’s out here in Dublin would be another jewel in Dublin’s crown.

    Thx, JMZ

Will this impact the location of the gym? I know originally it was meant to be on the South Side. Will it still be so?? I live on the north side and I’m not too thrilled about our much awaited Promenade being anchored by a gym.

Hi Anonymous – from what I understand, the fitness club will be on the North side along Central Parkway.

When I first heard that the Promenade would have a Club Sport-like facility as an anchor, I was also a bit apprehensive. However, a friend of mine reminded me that Santana Row in San Jose also has a lifestyle fitness resort as an anchor.

    Thx, JMZ

I am COMPLETELY thrilled that our Community will be anchored by a high-end lifestyle fitness resort. This is sure to draw upscale retail and restaurants to cater to those who can afford a $200/month gym membership.
