Grafton Station – construction of the 4 large retail pads at Grafton Station is progressing at a breakneck speed. The drywall has been set for about half of the buildings, the decorative features are being built, and the construction crews have been working overtime to complete the 4 retail buildings at Grafton Station. Please click on the picture above to get a more detailed view of the current state of the project.

Piazza Sorrento – this park, in the heart of the Sorrento community, recently opened for all of Dublin’s residents to enjoy. As you can see from the picture, it’s right next to a private clubhouse. The view from inside the clubhouse is so spectacular that the developer has begun to use the clubhouse to host special events for Dublin’s movers and shakers to help create a buzz about the Sorrento development.

Hi – any insight into what retailers/restaurants might be located at Grafton Station yet?

Hi Anonymous – I haven’t heard anything yet from Charter Properties or the City of Dublin on which retailers will be occupying the 4 retail pads. However, given how quickly the construction is coming along, my hunch is that Charter is in talks with retailers right now.

    Thx, JMZ

I was wondering if you saw that the San Jose land company was selling the land at both corners of Dublin Blvd and Tassajara? I know the city wanted them to move with developing this land. Any word on this, and why they would be selling?

Hi Anonymous – the City is eager to see John DiManto sell this land to a commercial developer. My understanding is that these parcels have been for sale for quite awhile. However, it looks like John DiManto has recently been encouraged to step-up the marketing efforts on these parcels of land so that Dublin can see the full benefits of future commercial/retail development at the corners Dublin Blvd. and Tassajara.

I noticed that there is the one large pad at grafton station that lines dublin blvd that has not been started. I believe this was for a larger building. Is charter properties waiting to finish the other buildings and get tenants before begining that stage?

Hi Anonymous – I’m not sure if that open parcel along Dublin Blvd. is reserved for parking spaces or if that will be another retail pad. I’ll check with the developer.

    Thx, John Z.

Hi Anonymous – I confirmed with Charter Properties this morning that the open area along Dublin Blvd. between the Lowe’s entrance/exit and the retail building that has drywall up is a going to be for parking.

    Thx, John Z.

I live in the area and was wondering if there is any chance they will build a supermarket in the area? I now shop at Safeway, but it can get a little busy there sometimes.

Is Mr. DiManto really trying to sell this property? If so do you know how many acres and to whom? I really hope he goes through with it this time.. Its been too many years for sale. And it would be good for the city of Dublin..
