Lucky number 13?! For the third week in a row, Dublin had 13 home sales for the week. Dublin’s average home sale price bumped up another 8% to just under $600K. This was another fantastic week for Dublin home sellers and buyers.

Look for home prices and the number of homes sold to continue to increase with the nearly 40 basis-point drop in 30-year fixed mortgage rates this week.

    Hi John,

That’s great that Dublin is selling at a decent pace. I saw a story on KRON 4 the other night regarding a Preschool for All Program. Here’s the story in case you’re interested: http://www.kron4.com/Global/story.asp?s=8980688

The reason I bring this up is that I think it would be a great incentive for families to move to Dublin if they know we offer free preschool. As it is, preschool is very expensive and this would give children an advantage going into kindergarten.

Have there been any discussions about this sort of program coming to Dublin?

    Thanks!!

Hi Anonymous – providing free preschool in Dublin would definitely be a huge incentive for existing and future residents. One could argue that this would help better prepare kids for school…which could lead to better performance (grades, scores, etc.).

It would be great if members of the Dublin Partners in Education or the DUSD Board of Trustees could look into this program.

Thank you for bringing visibility to this great program.

    Thx, John Z.

    Hi John,

Thanks for your response. Anything you can do to help facilitate a free preschool program would be wonderful.

I appreciate all of your efforts in helping the residents of this great town.

Pre School News froom Dublin School Board.

The district is indeed bringing pre-school in. The first place will be newly closed Nielsen. It will be brought to the board soon as part of a number of new services at Nielsen. Other venues are also being looked at across town. It may not be totally free, but fees should only be to cover expenses. More to come.

Free preschool program definitely help not just property value, given current turmoils in the financial market. It also helps rents as well, as property owner like myself planning to rent out my property.
