Happy Holidays to the Around Dublin Team! We much appreciate what you do for the citizens of Dublin. I don’t see many communities that have people who cares so much about their community to voluntarily spend time and money to do all the research for its residents.

This is a wonderful source of the topics in Dublin, some very positive and some may be contentiouse. Regardless it is the words of our Residents.

To the one reader on the topic regarding placing Council Meetings on Youtube where he/she was actually so disgusted and gagged on the fact that bloggers here have such inaccurate information. I tell this guy/gal that this blog is not CNN or MSNBC or the Nightly News so don’t expect precise accuracy if you choose to turn to this website for news. You’ve got the wrong outlet my friend.

Bloggers on this site are real residents with real concerns. Whether based on misinformation or facts it does not matter as we are not trained facts diggers.

Hi Anonymous – thank you very much for your support. I’m glad that you enjoy reading the blog.

I would like to offer one point of clarification – every bit of information that we post on Around Dublin is based on Staff reports from the City of Dublin website and/or reputable sources.

We’ve continually noted the instances where we’ve provided information that is based on hypotheses.

While many of the bloggers/commenters on Around Dublin would like to suggest that we are providing “misinformation”, I can assure readers that we provide information from the source.

I have been following this series of comments and have a couple of thoughts.

It is clear to me that most readers and commenters enjoy the facts and issues brought up by the blog. Actually, I do too. I think those same people deplore the name calling and personal attacks by some. Someone above makes the statement that it is okay that there is some misinformation as this is not a verifiable news source.

Okay, then when the facts come out from proven sources, why don’t those anonymous bloggers apologize for their vicious attacks? (this happened recently where a blogger realized a minor mistake and apologized) Are you saying it is okay to attack on bad info and let it go? Doesn’t that degrade any statement made on the blog?

If you want the reputation and participation of this blog to grow, including people from all sides of town, then I suggest you come up with a set of protocols for usage. Clearly some are unhappy regardless of what others say. Most I believe would adhere to a simple set of courtesies, strickly inforced. As my mother said, if you can’t say something nice about someone you should be quiet. Of course, being new to blogs, maybe I’m wrong about this last part.

Hope you and your team had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Mr. Zukoski.

I have noticed that although your critics continue to proclaim your blog is filled with nothing but lies and misinformation, not one of them has pointed to specific examples to back up their outrageous accusations. You, on the other hand, have taken great pains to cite your sources for all of your posts. The irony is just too rich.

I hope you and your team are taking the criticisms in stride. Just know that the negative reactions are motivated by fear, as you have hit the nerve of truth. Your readers are smart, and we wouldn’t keep coming back if you are not providing reliable information. Like the many other regulars who have expressed their support, I am grateful you feel so passionate about keeping your neighbors informed.

To all from anonymous November 28,10:56 AM. Just a clarification that we were not criticizing the operator of this site at all. When we refer to misinformation or inaccurate assumptions, it was in regards to bloggers, not all but some. As we’ve all noticed that some have argued passionately against or for a point based on bad or misundertood information.

One reader on another topic regarding the Youtube posting of City Council Meeting criticized both the operator and users of the blog for providing false information. We just wanted to point to this individual or group that the casual bloggers are not trained facts gatherer thus are barking up the wrong tree for accurate information. As for defending the operator, we ourselves have not seen any piece of misinformation, all we’ve seen are valuable information straight from reliable sources such as City Staff, Developers etc…

This site has always provided valuable, verifiable information that is wonderful for anyone who cares and loves the City of Dublin.

    We are grateful too!!

I agree with John L. that when one uses bad facts/information to attack someone else, whether it is City Leaders or another blogger, man up and apologize if you at some point realize you were wrong.
