The Town hall meetings are meant to share basic facts based on recent analysis from staff and getting feedback from the community. Meetings where decisions are made based on recommendations are the school board meetings, also where community input is sought.

Hi John – are these February meetings regarding the opening of Kolb Elementary and the DUSD’s operating budget being conducted to glean community feedback prior to the DUSD making decisions on when to open Kolb and what our budget priorities should be or are these meetings being held to communicate the decisions that will be made at the Board meeting on January 27th?

Coincidentally, the school district website (www.Dublin.k12.ca.us) placed the announcement of a Town Hall meeting for 2/4/09 in the evening to discuss Kolb Elem. Check it out. There are also Town Hall meetings on the budget crisis planned.

I think the best thing from this meeting is that Fallon Sports Park is coming out to bid and will start construction this summer. I think this will be a great attraction to the area.
