Planning Commission Meeting – 2/10/2009

The Planning Commission will be meeting on Tuesday night at 7pm in the City Council Chambers at 100 Civic Plaza. The only item on the agenda will be to review the Conditional Use Permit request for The Well Christian Community Church. The Well is a church located within the Sierra Business Center and is pastored by former Oakland Raiders running back Napoleon Kaufman and his wife Nicole.
The Planning Commission will evaluate whether or not to grant a Conditional Use Permit to allow for the:
- Addition of 4,584 sq. ft. of space for The Well’s Youth and Young Adult Ministries Program. The Well is located in the Sierra Business Center, which is zoned Light Industrial. While a church is a conditional use permitted by Dublin’s Light Industrial definition, it must be approved by the Planning Commission.
- Reduction in the parking required under the Dublin Zoning Ordinance by allowing for shared and off-site parking at neighboring sites.
- Minor modification of operating hours to extend a few of the worship services.
Based on the recommendation of City Staff, the Planning Commission is expected to approve The Well’s Conditional Use Permit.

Uh? Is this MILLIONAIRE Football Star going to PAY Taxes for the revenue of this church? If not I see no reason why they have these modifications for free. However if they are going to NOT Pay TAXES, then I feel if they want the or dances changed to accommodate there new Building Projects, they should pay for the Permits and any city fees for the load on administrative staff. In addition I feel if they want to put a burden on the local parking situation in there area they need to pay for additional parking projects else ware in Dublin to offset the loss to the community.
