Buffalo Wild Wings (B-Dubs) is planning to open their 5,700 sq. ft. grill & bar at Grafton Station in Dublin on April 6th – the same day as the NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship game. The first 100 customers to arrive at B-Dubs on the morning of April 6th will receive a coupon booklet for 6 free wings per week for 1 year!

B-Dubs will be installing kitchen equipment at their Dublin site this week and if all goes well this week they will have all the inspection and licensing sign-offs in place by Friday March 27th. After the grand opening, B-Dubs may go back to the Planning Commission to request permission to make signage and awning improvements to enhance the restaurant “look and feel”.

Great news! Even though Grafton Station took 5 years longer than Toll Bros. had told us, I’m still so excited! Hopefully it does well and more businesses will follow suit.

John, do you know what time they open on April 6th? I checked their website and couldn’t find any information on the Dublin location yet. Thanks!

Hi Stacy – they said the opening will be in the morning…so probably around 11am-ish to start seating the lunch crowd.

    Thx, John Z.

This is a CRUCIAL opening for all of East Dublin– If B-Dubs does “so-so” in its operations then no other companies will be very inclined to jump into Grafton Station (in today’s economy so many companies are afraid to do anything new that costs money up front). However, if B-Dubs opens up to huge crowds and night-after-night packed business, then that alone will get others to notice and say, “Hmm, maybe we can MAKE money by opening something up in that area.”– This needs everyone’s support if any of us want to see more businesses come to this area –

In all honesty, I believe that it’ll be a huge success- The large amount of residents all within walking distance is something that I don’t think any city in the area can match– B-Dubs might be swamped with customers (I’m hoping they do a good job with lots of signs and flyers to let people know about it (hey, not everyone reads this blog! ;-)

I imagine that The Promenade developers (and potential merchants) will be watching this very closely.

Any word from City Hall members about this? With the economy in its current state, and so many businesses going OUT of business (Circuit City, Expo Design, car dealers, Mervyns, etc) it would be good for the mayor and staff to perhaps do some sort of grand-opening ceremony– (normally you don’t have to celebrate every business opening, but come on, this is “special” in this economy and these businesses need all the support we can give them-

If B-Dubs starts airing UFC shows then I’ll be there for sure. I read an insane statistic that Pleasanton was one of the top 10 markets in the WORLD that purchased one of the recent UFC PPVs. Pleasanton is nowhere near a top market in the country, so the fact it would be top 10 in the world is beyond amazing. B-Dubs should recognize this and take advantage of it.

By the way, this isn’t East Dublin, but it’s darn close… a new Panda Express is opening right next to Baskin Robbins on Santa Rita near Rosewood. That’s a good sign.

I think that the efforts the Obama administration is making to help small business owners will have an impact in bringing other businesses to our town.

I am very excited about the opening of B-Dubs and I agree that it would be fantastic if they aired UFC shows. We need a nice mix of different sports shows to draw a variety of crowds. I agree with Gordon’s post on having some kind of ribbon cutting ceremony by the Mayor to welcome this new business to our town.

“I think that the efforts the Obama administration is making to help small business owners will have an impact in bringing other businesses to our town.”

I think you are drinking too much Obama kool-aid. This opening was planned long before B.O. was elected. What evidence do you have that any type of stimulus has made it down to small business yet?

Anyway, B-Dubs is a great start to East Dublin.

I know the person who wrote that about Obama, and believe me, she is no Obama fan. She does not drink any Obama kool-aid, and I even told her when she posted that “You know, it sounds like you’re an Obama supporter, which is funny, because you’re not.”

She was trying to imply that the small business stimulus package would help Dublin. I don’t think this administration will help any business because of all the taxing set to come, but time will tell.

I came from midwest where i used to hang out at B-Dub. When I moved out here, I was a bit bummed because there’s no B-Dub anywhere in NorCal. So I’m excited about this, I can actually have a place to go to watch sports :)

“I think that the efforts the Obama administration is making to help small business owners will have an impact in bringing other businesses to our town.”

To the naysayer who couldn’t even understand the language that was spoken, I offer another perspective. I think Obama Kood-aid is much more promising and healthy than the arsenic (ala Jim Jones)fed to us by Bush/Cheney these past 8 years. I hope everyone holds a little hope that these programs will work. Otherwise all we will have left is poverty and Rush Limbagh. Of course many will blame the recession on Obama and all (afterall, he’s been on the job for 2 months now), rather than those responsible being given credit for it.

    Hi all,

I love the political dialogue and even agree with some of the points brought up here, but we as readers of Around Dublin should try to prevent too much political back-and-forth on this site. This site is supposed to be a positive bulletin board of the new cool things going on in Dublin (and a great resource for those that live in Dublin or are thinking of moving to Dublin)– Dublin City politics is better kept for the sister site of Dublin Townhall, and general US Politics can be best debated at places like cnn.com or other sites.. I would just hate it if after each post of some new project, we always had it denigrate into a dems vs repubs debate and which party is hurting us more…

    Just my 2 cents–

I agree that partisan politics should be limited on this blog. However, let me be clear. For a long time I, and like-thinking others, have sat quietly while Russ’ ilk have made snide, disparaging comments about Dems and their politics. NO MORE. I will not let a stupid comment go unchallenged. So, yes. lets keep ALL the politics out of it.

So which is it, you want partisan politics out of this, or you want to challenge someone’s comments on Democrats? You can’t have it both ways.

Personally, I love talking politics here as long as what people write is something I agree with :)

Geez! You just can't leave it alone can you? I'm not from Dublin but got on here to learn of the B-Dubs opening & I will bring my "out-of-town" business just to eat & play there. HOWEVER, I WILL NOW NEVER LOOK TO THIS ELECTRONIC VEHICLE FOR DUBLIN NEWS AND INTERESTS! STOP THE POLITICS! WE'RE ALL SICK OF IT!

    To Michael Farrell

I agree. Lets put the political stuff aside. That is if Mr. “You can’t have it both ways.” and others lay off as well. Altough his lack of clarity sounds like he has had a few too many beers already.

I too am excited for B-Dubs to be opening in Dublin! Finally we get to welcome openings instead of all the recent closures.

I also saw that the sign for Extreme Pizza is up at the Shops at Tralee and I hear they’re going to be opening around the same time as B-Dubs. I’ve tried them in Walnut Creek and their pizzas are awesome so I’m excited for them to be coming to Dublin as well!

I’m excited for B-Dubs to come near us. Finally a great place to kick back after work and drink some beers. Anyone know what the status is for the other proposed tenants? I recall a discussion about a Bev-Mo like store coming. Also what is the latest on Whole Foods?

If signs coming off is any indication, Whole Foods may not be coming for quite some time. We’d get BART to Livermore before The Green ever gets built. San Jose Construction just took down their sign yesterday at the Whole Foods site and started to remove the heavy equiptment that had been idle there. Brace for more CONDOS!! Yippee for Dublin!!

It will be unfortunate not to have Whole Food in town. Recently, Wholefood put up a sign in Lafayette. I am not sure how it may affect their plan to come to Dublin, since they already have a store in San Ramon which is 6 miles away. I will be happy as long as we don’t get retailer like Walmart. They have been trying to improve their image by improving their architectural features and adopting sustainble features into the architectural design. However, it is still Walmart. Walmart may be looking for opportunities to grow (hope not Dublin). Anyway, I believe all Dubliners deserve something better than Walmart.

Have you heard any recent news about Wal-mart coming to Dublin? I’ve heard that with all the Home Depot Expo store closures in and around the Bay Area, Wal-mart is looking at those empty stores as potential locations for their supercenters. It would truly be awful if they came into our community and ruined all our small, local businesses.

Wal-Mart would never move here. They have a big store right there in Pleasanton, two miles from the Green site.

Just because the construction crew moved from the Green site doesn’t mean the project is dead. Maybe they just switched construction vendors. Or maybe that killer spider story from last week is spooking customers away from Whole Foods and sales are down.

I think the BW3′s will show the UFC fights…i was in Ohio for work one weekend. I went to dinner at BW3′s and they were showing the UFC fight. I asked the waitress and she said almost all BW3′s show the fights. Let me tell you its an awesome place to watch a fight. They have TV’s everywhere and a massive big screen.

Grand opening April 6th….NCAA championship game that night…I will be there!

That’s true, other B-Dub franchises show UFC. With Pleasanton having so many UFC fans, it should do well. But I won’t be there; imagine all those rowdy fight fans drinking alcohol, half of which study BJJ on the side. Recipe for broken bones. I’ll stay home, thank you very much.

Did anybody notice all the cars in the parking lot at B-Dubs tonight? It looked like the parking lot was about 1/2 full. Maybe they were having a pre-grand opening party of some sort?

Hi Anonymous on March 31, 2009 7:12 PM – that’s a great point. It makes sense that there would be training to get everybody ready for the big April 6th grand opening.

I agree with most of the postings. It will fantastic to have a BWW walking distance from the house. Ironically we have friends coming from Indiana this weekend. Weeks ago I asked them to bring me some wing sauce. It felt awesome to “cancel” my order. Looking forward to walking there and crawling home with a happy tummy.

Question about the first hundred guests April 6th receiving a coupon for the 6 wings per week for 1 year, is it the first hundred WILL get the coupon or the first hundred has a CHANCE to win the coupon? Big difference, please advise if anyone knows.

Hi Anonymous on April 5, 2009 10:14 PM – my understanding is that the first 100 WILL get the coupon booklet with ribs for a year. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be as big of a need to rush down to B-Dubs for the 11am opening.

Are you going to claim your prize of ribs for a year?

Yes I will try, not sure if I can beat out all the diehard early birds though. Is it ribs or wings for the coupons. Either would be worth the trot down there. Thanks!!

    Hi guys,
This new restaurant, Buffalo Wild Wings, is awesome!! This place is kid friendly, the server was really attentive to us and on top of it they have Tuesday .50 cent wings and Thursday .60 cent boneless wings. Can’t beat that price for a family outing. By the way I love your website…keeps us up to date on our Dublin Community!!!
