I do hope that your organization will reconsider before bringing this circus company back into your town. I live in Oklahoma, where the circus is based, and they are a terrible, terrible group. I truly believe that circus goers and those who bring them into places do not hate animals, I simply believe they are misinformed. If anyone residing in Dublin happens to read this and is a bit educated about the horror that goes on within the circus industry, please get some accurate information to the Rotary Club today! I do not support the circus coming to Dublin because of it's animal abuse. However, this comment and all other comments regarding boycotting the circus I feel are not personal attacks to the city council. They have done many great things for the city in the past and will continue to do so in the future. This decision unfortunately was an ill made decision and does not necessarily mean that they support animal abuse. I think if they had known those facts before, this circus would definitely not be in town. I'm really sorry to hear that it is and I hope future decisions will be researched better.

I think the trainers in the video are horrible, insensitive people.

Yes, the circus is different and some may think "cool" but at what expense? Is it cool that these animals are beaten horribly, just for some stupid trick?

Also, your notion of people who complain needing to move, I'm sure you're quite young but the History you learned at DHS should still be fresh in your memory: This country was FOUNDED by great leaders and thinkers who did complain and who did question the status quo. If they did not, we would be part of the United Kingdom still today-

People on this Blog care greatly about Dublin, and bashing its civic leaders or business practices are indeed part of what makes this country so strong- Without criticism, the powers-that-be are left unchecked, which is something we can hopefully all agree is not ideal-

Its always going to happen because we all support and allow it to happen. If you support the people against animal abuse why are you so angry on them if they are bashing the circus for that.

Do you really find it so cool watching elephants line up and do acts for which they had to go through tremendous pain and suffering?

Thank you to the city of Dublin for bringing in something so cool and different.

For all the people with the negative comments, GET A LIFE. If all you have to do is bash on people, the circus, or Dublin, then you need to move somewhere else and stop complaining. If you think what Dublin is doing is a joke, you life obviously is the real joke if you spend you time complaining about stupid things.

I do support the people who are against animal abuse though. It's not right but sadly its always going to happen.
