Updates on Historic Park and Fallon Sports Park

As many residents have noticed, the City of Dublin has been making tremendous progress on both the Historic Park and Fallon Sports Park. Here are quick updates on both projects:
Historic Park

- Kolb buildings have been moved and are currently sitting over their foundations.
- The structural connections are being made to secure the Kolb buildings to their new foundations.
- Other Historic Park Phase I site improvements will likely begin soon.
- Project completion still set for January 2010 with an opening in late spring 2010.
- Please click here for an article on the Fallon Sports Park’s features.
- Mass grading work is complete and the underground work is underway.
- Phase I of the Fallon Sports Park is expected to open in late spring 2011.
- Future phases have been pushed out to fiscal year 2013-2014.
Both projects will be fantastic additions for Dublin’s residents and should also be tremendous regional draws.

It'll be exciting to see it all come together.
I wonder what will happen to Dublin Creek kennels though?

Hi Anonymous on June 16, 2009 12:56 PM – I haven’t heard anything about Dublin Creek Kennel’s property being in the sphere of interest for the Dublin Historic Park. The City probably wouldn’t be interested in purchasing their property unless the owner proposed some type of deal.
Thx, John Z.

Hi Anonymous on June 21, 2009 8:43 PM – I wasn’t able to find the story referenced in the link. Was the article in regards to Fallon Sports Park? If so, Phase I with softball fields, soccer fields, little league fields, etc. is still a go. However, future phases have been pushed out to 2013-2014.
Thx, John Z.

My apologizes: http://www.insidebayarea.com/dublin/ci_12610465
And the comments at the end of the article just reiterates how much I disliked former Mayor Lockhard and they way she gave the developers whatever they wanted.
