Emerald Glen may not require driving for east side residents living near the park, but there are neighborhoods that allow walking to the City Center as well. I think having the Dublin concert in the City Center creates a stronger distribution of concerts in the area since the Pleasanton concert is not that far of a drive from east Dublin. I also like that the concert at the City Center provides an opportunity for our residents to feel a sense of community and pride by visiting the beautiful new City and Library buildings.

It is very easy to find parking near the Civic Center with lots for Center and the library and sports field all right there. Also, I've never been bothered by the traffic noise while attending a concert at the Center. It's really most noticeable when attending a soccer game that is directly next to the freeway.

It's hard to avoid the wind in Dublin, but I've always thought that the buildings block the winds at the City Center. You also make a good point about balancing events to the east and west sides of town

I think it makes send to hold the concert at Emerald Glen park. Civic center is in the middle of business center and requires for sure driving and parking. On the other hand there will be more people walking if it is close to residential community.

Check out Pleasanton concerts, you cannot find a space on lawn and a lot of people walk to the park.

I live across from the park and wouldn't mind a bit..seeing as it ends at 9pm.

What is the parking like at the current location? Is it hard to find a spot?

My thought is that Emerald Glen is surrounded by Residential thus it may be more difficult for the City to host concerts with amplified music there on a regular basis. That vs Civic Center where there is not much residential nearby. At Emerald Glen the City may run into oppostion from neighbors effected by the noise. I don't know, just a thought.

I think the key here is to plan the appropriate events in the correct area. Dublin, in my opinion, should not view itself as an "east and west". Friday night movies, Day on the Glen, Father's Day Picnic are all park setting events, as, I believe, listening to good music. St. Patrick's Day parade and festival is appropriate for Civic Center. Good Conversation!

Good Point!! It is also a lot windier at the Civic Plaza location. On the other hand I see the need for civic leaders to balance activities out between east and west. Emerald Glen already has (Friday night movies, Day on the Glen, Father's Day Picnic) etc... Good point though none the less.
