This is a great opportunity to grow the local events....good inexpensive fun.

In tough economic times people stay home. Part of the reason why the festival is as big as last couple of years is a reflection of the current economic environment.

Totally agree with you. The festival seems to be geared toward families with small children (which is great) but my two kids 10-12 unanimously said they don't want to go back as there was nothing to see or do. 30 minutes walkthrough and we were back home. How do you get involved with the organizing committee to help bring in some activities? Some ideasSponsored 3 on 3 basketball tournament - Club Sport or Similar could sponsor this.Where was Dublin Little League Booth, Tri-Valley Football, Cheer booths....they should have been there signing up kids.Schedule Musical events (blues, jazz, country, rock at predetermined times to bring in people)More vendor booths ( I appreciate the community organizations, but there has to be something other that community churches, karate schools, chiropractors and private schools out there)Taste of Dublin food to supplement the carnival food. This could bring in people by itself. There have got to be restaurants interested. Because of our diversity it seems we could really get a "world" food court going with American, Italian, Indian, Thai, Japanese, Greek etc.Wine and Beer Tasting - We got spectacular wineries here in the valley along with a lot of boutique wineries. This festival could be so much more.

Day on the Glen Disappointing

I was underwhelmed by the day on the Glen festival this year. With the addition of four new courts coming online in 2010 at the new Fallon Sports Park, we will probably see Dublin offering more tennis tournaments in the future to service the needs of residents.Thx, John Z.

Hi Anonymous – Dublin decided to not run any outdoor volleyball tournaments in 2009 and instead is conducting a tennis tournament in its place for the Day on the Glen Festival.

Volleyball attendance had been dwindling in the past two years and the outdoor tournaments were drawing a very small overall percentage of Dublin residents.

On the flip side, Dublin’s tennis programming is growing.
