In the early morning hours of September 9, 10 and 11, 2009, I-580 will be closed at the Fallon Road interchange for bridge construction work. The construction contractor will be removing the existing barrier rail along the east side of the freeway overcrossing.

Westbound I-580 will be closed between midnight and 3:00 a.m. Eastbound I-580 will be closed between 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. Traffic traveling on I-580 will be detoured off the freeway at the Fallon Road/El Charro Road off ramps. At the end of the off ramps motorists will be directed across Fallon/El Charro Road and can reenter the freeway utilizing the existing on ramps from Fallon Road/El Charro Road. Access to Fallon Road and El Charro Road will be maintained. At no time will both eastbound and westbound I-580 be closed simultaneously.

Motorists may experience minor delays exiting and reentering the freeway and may want to consider alternate routes to avoid any construction related delays.

Questions regarding the detour and construction of the I-580 Interchange project can be directed to the City of Dublin’s Resident Engineer at (510) 760-8394.

I’d like to know more about the livermore prime outlets. Any news from them yet, John?

My parents visit this website, and despite being very nice people, and somewhat “with it”, I still had to calm them down about these posts (not being true). They are now wondering what else is false on the site (I basically had to tell them to not believe anything in comments..that seems harsh but for folks like mine, it’s the only real way for them to enjoy the site and not have to ask me (worrying) about false posts..

      Hi Anonymous,

Your parents are lucky to have you looking out for them. Readers should absolutely use their best judgment and evaluate all ANONYMOUS comments critically. We know longtime readers do not need us to tell them what to believe and what not to believe; however, we recognize that new readers may need a little more help as they get acquainted with our website. Going forward we will respond to each and every misinformation-laden comment, so readers who are not familiar with our work may have an easier time discriminating fact from fiction.

How would the Dublin blvd be converted to a four lane expressway? Where are the new lanes going to be built?

Why is Dublin so willing to make Dublin Blvd into an Expressway when Pleasanton is fighting so hard to prevent the extension of Stoneridge.

That’s how it always is, right? Pleasanton embraces slow growth; Dublin embraces rapid growth. Makes for two very different cities with two very different vibes. One isn’t necessarily better than the other—people are attracted to different things in a city of residence.

Hi Anonymous – did you write all of the other comments posted earlier this evening with the future-looking statements? If so, it would be great if you could direct readers to the source documents. Otherwise, readers may not take the information that you’re providing seriously. It is obvious that you’ve put a lot of time in drafting this information, so it’s important that folks are able to feel comfortable reading it without concern for credibility of the source material.

    Thx, John Z.

    Hi John,
I think you should find a way to ban him from the site or start moderating comments. misinformation like this makes the site unusable.

    Hi Anonymous,

We understand your position; however, we strongly disagree with the assertion that unsubstantiated statements from anonymous sources make this site unusable. We are privileged to have some of the most intelligent readers visiting our website daily, and we are confident our readers can read critically and think for themselves.

I guess any traffic is good traffic. At least until readers get annoyed and stop visiting.

I agree. That’s not the best position. You don’t want trolls mucking up your site and making it hard to read for regulars. I’d recommend deleting the troll-y comments or switching to comment moderation. It doesn’t have to be permanent. You can take it off when you’re no longer “under attack.”
