Dublin Sports Grounds

Adults and kids from all over Dublin enjoy the Dublin Sports Grounds every week. Located next to the Dublin Library and City Hall, the Dublin Sports Grounds has been the bastion of athletic dreams and achievements for many of Dublin’s residents.

While the current facilities have been a blessing to many, Dublin’s City Council recently approved a $1M project to make a series of improvements. The project will be paid for using funds contributed by the Measure WW bond program that was approved by voters this past November.

The City of Dublin is scheduled to renovate approximately 4.75 acres west of the lighted soccer field, including:

  • Infield of Baseball Diamond #3 (90’),
  • Outfield of Baseball Diamond #6, and
  • Soccer Fields #2, #3 and #7.

The work includes sod removal, soil preparation, irrigation, drainage and grass seeding. The work is anticipated to begin in summer 2010 with areas open for use in spring 2011. Please see Mayor Tim Sbranti’s October 8th weekly address for more information.

On a related note, Fallon Sports Park is expected to open during summer 2010.
