Walk N’ Roll To School During October

On October 7th, representative schools from the cities of Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton and San Ramon celebrated the second annual Walk ‘n’ Roll to School program with morning refreshments, giveaways and visits by local officials.
Throughout the month of October, students and parents are encouraged to track the number of days they bike or walk to school rather than being driven. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the month, courtesy of local businesses including Dublin Cyclery, Livermore Cyclery, Vine Theater, First Treat Yogurt, Target, Woopsie Daisy Toys, Yogofina and CooleyKatz Toys.
Hosted by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, goals of the program include walking and biking to school, encourage youth health and exercise, and reduce traffic congestion and traffic-related air pollution around schools. This year’s participating schools in the Walk ‘n’ Roll to School Program include Dublin Elementary in Dublin, Live Oak Elementary in San Ramon, Mohr Elementary in Pleasanton, and Jackson Avenue Elementary in Livermore.
