Besides remote. Discovery Homes moved a total 9.8 million cubic yards of dirt to build the Schaefer Ranch . As a perspective, building of Walt Disney World in Orlando moved 8 million cubic yards of dirt. So that's 1.4 million more cubic yards for 300+ McMansions.

Dublin should be ashamed by this development. It goes to show you that greed wins every time in Dublin and all the talk of the environment from our city leadership is just political BS.

Hi William,

Last I checked MT Biking will be allowed. Most (if not all) the trails will be fire roads and eventually link to Las Trampas and Bishop Ranch Park.

No need on getting into the impact of Mt. Bikes debate. The tolls will come out and spam this site with endless blabber.

BTW, the mud is really bad in this park so don't ride it in the winter. It sticks to everything.

I hope there's access for mountain bikers as well? Much like Pleasanton Ridge?

Being that they're allowing horses, I hope the EBRPD is fair in that they allow those that choose to enjoy the trails on a bicycle along side hikers, equestrians, etc.

I have nothing against the equestrians. I would simply like to see that mountain bikers are treated as human beings by the park district. I am not the reckless riders that spook horses or hikers. I dismount and allows horses to pass whenever the situations arise. The park district however has been very slow to open up desirable trails to cyclists....

Glad to hear more good news. We visited the Schaefer Ranch community awhile back. It is nice, but out there. It takes awhile to get to the nearest store, which is an inconvenience. The builder advertises that you are close to BART. It didn't seem like it. Definitely not a place to live if you want to be able to walk to places. Walkscore.com gave it a walk score of 6 out of 100 and listed it as car dependent. Yikes!
