Fallon Sports Park Pictorial Update

Currently set to open in summer 2010, Fallon Sports Park in Dublin is looking better and better every day. The park is bordered by Fallon Road and Lockhart Street to the east and west and Gleason Drive and Central Parkway to the north and south. The picture above shows a little league field that is nearly completed. In addition to two little league fields, the first phase of Fallon Sports Park will include:
- 2 artificial turf soccer fields
- 1 BMX track
- 2 softball fields
- 4 tennis courts
- 4 basketball courts
The pictures below shows the progress being made with one of the soccer fields and two ball fields. Phase II of the Fallon Sports Park has been pushed out to fiscal year 2013-2014.

Any plans for a dog park in East Dublin?

Hi JY – there’s a small dog park located at Bray Commons park at 3300 Finnian Way:

I believe that there is a small part of Fallon Sports Park that has not been designated for a use. In theory, this could become a dog park in a future phase…although it’s highly unlikely given some of the feedback provided at the community scoping meeting a year or so ago.
Thx, John Z.

What’s with the by permit only to use the softball and baseball fields? Is there a cost to get a permit? Can individuals who simply want to use the fields to practice with their kids get a permit? It’s very disappointing to be locked out of the fields my tax dollars helped fund, especially during the times when none of them are being used for league games or practices. They’re sitting there empty.

I would like to know if we can build a cricket pitch similar to built in Emerald Glen Park. There is lot of interest in this sport and number of cricket teams are increasing in Dublin. We mostly go to Emerald Glen pitch to play, but it will be nice to have one in Fallon Sports Park.

Hi PG – that sounds like a great idea. I believe that there is some land at Fallon Sports Park that is still undesignated. There may be enough for a cricket pitch. Please consider emailing the Mayor and Councilmembers with your thought:
