Festivus for the Rest of Us at Bunjo’s

Bunjo’s Comedy Club will be celebrating their 3rd Annual Festivus Jubilee on December 23rd and December 24th from 7-9pm on both nights.
Popularized by the Seinfeld episode called “The Strike”, Festivus is “a non-denominational holiday typically celebrated by those frustrated or jaded with the commercialism and pressure surrounding the Christmas/Hanukkah season” according to Wikipedia.
“I started officially celebrating Festivus three years ago and wish I had started sooner. I am so sick and tired of the commercialism of the holidays. It seems like every year the it starts earlier and earlier. The irony is that if it gets too popular it risks the danger of getting commercialized itself,” observes Bunjo’s owner John DeKoven.
The Bunjo’s Festivus Jubilee will include:
- Live comedy from some of the best comedians in the Bay Area
- Pictures by the Festivus Pole
- Airing of The Grievances
- Stupid human tricks
- A re-gifting Table
- A Passing Down of the Festivus Fruitcake
“My favorite part of Festivus is The Airing of the Grievances. It’s what we all want to do around the holidays, but don’t. Festivus gives us full permission to tell our closest friends and relatives how they have disappointed us over the past year,” quips DeKoven.
Tickets are $10 each plus a two item minimum. To order tickets, please call 925-264-4413 or you can order online. Because this is a special event, tickets will not be sold at the door.
Bunjo’s Comedy Club is located at The Willow Tree Restaurant on Regional Street in Dublin.
