Mayor Sbranti to Deliver the State of the City Address

Mayor Tim Sbranti will be delivering the State of the City address on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at the Shannon Community Center in Dublin, CA. The event will start at 12:00 noon and is sponsored by the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.
The main theme for Mayor Sbranti’s speech will focus on the “changing landscape in Dublin.” He will address the current economic conditions that have impacted Dublin in terms of its fiscal situation and development-related activities. While delivering the realities of today’s economy, Mayor Sbranti will also look towards the future and discuss a number of programs the City is pursuing to assist local businesses as well as attract new business. Additionally, the Mayor will update the community on the progress being made at Fallon Sports Park and the Historic Park.

Just before beginning his remarks tomorrow, Mayor Sbranti will honor Dublin resident and World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Middleweight Champion Andre Ward with a key to the City. Ward holds an undefeated record of 21-0 with 13 Knockouts as a professional boxer. He has won more than 120 matches as an amateur, including the Gold Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games. Ward has not lost a bout as an amateur or a professional since 1996. In addition to his achievements in the ring, the Mayor will recognize his continued commitment to working with and inspiring at-risk youth throughout the Bay Area.

We need to invest in getting him a chair that doesn’t look like something left over from the set of The Golden Girls— I have a black Leather Executive Chair. I would gladly donate it to him–

Hi Anonymous – that chair and all the Council chairs are actually fairly new. The City was able to purchase them using proceeds from the Recycling Fund (i.e., not from the general fund) because the chairs are made from recycled/sustainable materials.
Cheers, John Z.

Golden Girls, that’s hilarious. I can’t believe they are new, but they do look recycled. Who was their interior decorator, Homie the Clown?

That chair actually match the personality of our mayor. Very approachable and friendly. I have a high hope for him to turn our our community from this recession.

My offer still stands… It’s a black leather chair– It’s better than buying recycled, because it requires nothing to be made, melted down and redone, or shipped (truly recycled).. I just want our Mayor to look like he’s not holding court at the Bingo Hall
