Positano is a gorgeous community nestled in the rolling hills of Fallon Village in Dublin, CA. Positano’s developer, Braddock & Logan, has recently shown signs that they may be having a cash crunch as a result of the tough economy and tight mortgage lending market:
- Braddock & Logan recently sold their remaining 40+ lots and development rights for the Cantara at Positano project to home building behemoth KB Homes.
- Braddock & Logan sold a portion of the Maranello project land and development rights to D.R. Horton. This parcel of land acts as a buffer between the planned Maranello development and the Dublin Ranch Golf Course.
- The City Council voted to save Braddock & Logan millions of dollars in construction costs by changing the Positano affordable housing requirements. This reduction was in response to Braddock & Logan’s implication that it would not be able to continue building at Positano without the change.
- The City of Dublin recently stepped in to pay for traffic median landscaping improvements that Braddock & Logan had initially planned to install along Fallon Road.

This home in a nice, older area of Tulsa, Oklahoma suddenly increased in value when the tree accidentally crashed into it.

Not due to excessive insurance, but something much more interesting. Can you think of why?

The Muslim Community Center of the East Bay (MCC-East Bay) has spent the past few years planning and fundraising to build a 35,000 sq. ft. facility on the three-acre parcel on the corner of Gleason Drive and Brannigan Street in Dublin, CA. The proposed facility has been designed to include features such as a community hall, prayer hall, and day care.
Many Around Dublin Blog readers have heard whisperings recently that the MCC-East Bay decided not to build their new location in Dublin. While representatives of the MCC-East Bay have not formally notified the City of Dublin that they intend to shelve plans for this project, they did recently sign a multi-year lease in Pleasanton for a 7,000 sq. ft. facility. Additionally, the MCC-East Bay has invested a significant amount of time and money to make tenant improvements at their Pleasanton site. Taken together, the lease extension and the subsequent tenant improvements seem to suggest that the group plans to remain in Pleasanton for at least the next four to five years.

The Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour Earl Anthony Memorial and the PBA Women’s Series Earl Anthony Memorial are returning to Earl Anthony’s Dublin Bowl in Dublin, CA, after 18 years. The event is being held from January 12-17 and will conclude with live ESPN television coverage at 10AM PST on the last day.
The return of the Earl Anthony Memorial Classic is fantastic news for Dublin. The tournament was relocated back to Dublin after Earl Anthony’s widow Susie asked Dublin Bowl proprietor Ted Hoffman if he would bring the tournament back to it’s original home. With Ted’s leadership, the support of the City of Dublin, and the nimbleness of the PBA, this national tournament is back with the center that bears Earl Anthony’s name. “We’ve hosted a PBA West Regional tournament bearing Earl’s name for years, but it’s really nice to have the national tour coming back. We’re all excited. Our staff is pumped,” said Hoffman.
