The Michael Jackson Tribute band Foreverland is just one of the many talented acts performing at this year’s Alameda County Fair. Other acts include country legend Lonestar, soul luminaries Tower of Power, Grammy Award-nominated Christian rock band Newsboys, and rock n’ roll powerhouse Grand Funk Railroad. Each musical group will perform twice each night with the first show starting at 6PM and the second at 8PM. Please check the Alameda County Fair website for the complete lineup.

In addition to the great musical acts, the Alameda County Fair will also have a slew of exciting events such as the Eighth Annual Rib Cookoff on June 30th, a fireworks display on July 2nd, the Hot Dog Relay Eating Contest on July 4th, the American Music Weekend July 2nd-July 4th. Kids looking to be up close with nature can enjoy the Great American Petting Zoo, Barnyard, and Small Animals Exhibit. The Around Dublin Team is especially intrigued by the All-Alaskan Pig Races, not to be confused with regular pig races.

This year’s Alameda County Fair also features 16 days of horse racing. Each day of racing starts at around 12:45PM and runs until roughly 5PM. As with the concerts, admission to the horse races is included in the price of the ticket.

Tickets purchased in advance cost $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, and $4 for kids six years and older. Tickets purchased at the gate cost an extra $2. Kids under six years of age have free access to the Fair. For those looking to attend the Alameda County Fair for free, Big O Tires has a special deal in which customers can receive two free tickets with any purchase over $75.

The Alameda County Fair was named the fastest growing fair in America for 2009. Attendance is expected to be hit 450,000 for 2010. Over 300 commercial vendors and 70 food vendors are expected at this year’s Fair. T-shirts, beach towels, and car shades are among many of this year’s giveaways.
