Kadupul’s Restaurant and Catering Business Blossoms in Dublin
Kadupul is one of Dublin’s newest restaurants, but they have an established track record for their popular catering business. Located in the San Ramon Valley Plaza at 8939 San Ramon Road in Dublin next to Mountain Mike’s, Kadupul offers a sensational array of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine that is primed with aromatic fresh roasted spices and herbs unique to Sri Lanka’s renowned heritage. Kadupul is the realized dream of owners and operators Aloka Desilva and Eranga Goonawardena. Aloka and Eranga have been operating their successful catering business Lakdiva Foods for over six years. It was after prompting from many of their clients that they decided to open their restaurant Kadupul in Dublin.
The Dublin location is perfect for Aloka and Eranga because the Dublin-San Ramon area is the hub for most of their loyal clients and their restaurant is so easily accessible from I-680. The long-term vision for Kadupul is to blossom into a more formal restaurant with fusion cuisine. “There is a lot that can be done with these brand new flavors,” noted Kadupul’s flavoring expert Aloka Goonawardena.
The Around Dublin Team highly recommends the vegetarian curry puff patties for an appetizer and the chicken Kottu Rotti and Sri Lankan Chicken Biriyani for entrees. If you would like to have rice with your meal that’s healthy and still fluffy and flavorful, then you will love Kadupul’s ultra-fluffy dome of brown rice. You won’t think of brown rice in the same way again.
In addition to offering fine Sri Lankan cuisine, Kadupul also provides wedding planning & coordination and catering & venue planning services. Kadupul in-house wine expert Malcolm Goonawardena is also available to provide sommelier services for special events. Kadupul has provided catering for up to 500 guests at a time.
Kadupul is quickly gaining a strong reputation in the Tri-Valley with a 4.5 rating on Yelp and over 100 fans on Facebook in just the past few months.
Kadupul is open Wednesday through Sunday for lunch and dinner. Kadupul also offers an all-you-can-eat lunch entree special during the work week.
