What happens when great Livermore Valley wineries, local businesses, and dogs in search of new homes intersect? It is the 2011 Wine Dog Calendar that will be published by Tri-Valley resident Michele McPherson. “I’d like to kill 3 birds with one stone – advertise Livermore Valley wineries, promote small local downtown (Livermore) businesses in the Tri-Valley and beyond, and donate to a cause I am passionate about,” shared McPherson who plans to donate all proceeds from the 2011 Wine Dog Calendar to Tri-Valley Animal Rescue in Dublin.

McPherson confided that she became inspired to help make a difference with the calendar after watching “Animal Cops” on the Discovery Channel. McPherson’s goal is to help “make a difference” in the community.

The calendars should be available to purchase from select Livermore Valley wineries starting in mid-October. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Top Sponsors contributing $125 will have their business promoted on page of the calendar and Sponsors contributing $75 will be listed on every other page. Businesses and individuals can also donate $35 to be listed on the Donations page.

Some of the participating wineries include Red Feather, BoaVentura, Retzlaff, and Ruby Hill.
