New Steakhouse to Open at Grafton Station Before Christmas

Charter Properties has confirmed that a new steakhouse will be opening at Grafton Station before Christmas 2010. The new steakhouse will be owned by an investment group led by a former employee of the Hungry Hunter Steakhouse chain. Currently in the design phase, the steakhouse will be called Cellar 9 Wine Bar & Restaurant. Once opened, the new steakhouse will be in the same building as Karma Fusion Lounge and right across from Dublin Ranch Dental.

The addition of a steakhouse to Grafton Station makes a great deal of sense and should complement Buffalo Wild Wings and Karma Fusion Lounge nicely. In addition to these restaurants, Grafton Station is also home to Lowe’s.

The steakhouse will likely be the last restaurant added to phase II of Grafton Station unless Charter Properties can secure interest from a restaurant owner and obtain a Conditional Use Permit or a further change in permanent parking ordinance by the City of Dublin to reduce the parking requirement. The City of Dublin has granted Charter Properties a reduction in required parking spaces earlier this year.

The addition of the soon-to-be-named steakhouse should attract more customers to Grafton Station and spur demand for the remaining available retail spaces. Grafton Station is located in East Dublin on Dublin Boulevard across from the Villas at Dublin Ranch Villages.

This is great news for Dublin! If it’s a chain, I hope they shoot for a higher end format like Morton’s or Ruth’s Chris. If it’s not a chain, something similar would be just as good.

Wow, I’m excited about this. I’m looking forward to Target as well. It’ll certainly beat having to drive to West Dub!

This is great news about Target. I hope we can attract a Fry’s Electronics at some point too. Driving down to Freemont is a drag.

That’s right across the future mega-high end outlet to be built in Livermore on El Charro. Hopefully it will help this one to get built quicker.

West Dublin could be a good place for the Fry’s or put an outdoor shopping center with fountains…similar to what Brentwood did which they call the “Streets of Brentwood”

I also like what Brentwood did – took some empty space in the shopping center parking lot and built an outdoor theater looks similar to Australia’s Sydney Opera house…another way to bring more theater to Dublin (an outdoor theater) http://www.shopstreetsofbrentwood.com/

I don’t see mention of a Target store anywhere in that story– I have read before that Target was looking to open a location in this general area but I haven’t heard anything about that for at least a year.. John, any update on the Target?

Here’s a link to the architecture firm doing work for Fallon Gateway – where Target will be the anchor. Includes a few artists renderings of Fallon Gateway…hope they build in 2011.

Considering the strong winds blowing through the I-580 corridor in Dublin for 6 to 8 months of the year, it looks to me like the orientation of the Fallon Gateway buildings is ill-conceived.
