Salsa Festival to Sizzle Once More in Downtown Livermore on August 14

The Second Annual Livermore Salsa Festival will take place on Saturday, August 14, 2010, in Downtown Livermore. The Festival will be on K Street, between First and Second Street, from 5PM to 8PM.
Local restaurants and salsa vendors will be dishing up a wide variety of salsa, from mild to wild for everyone to enjoy. Visitors will get the chance to cool burning taste buds with frosty margaritas, ice-cold beer, soft drinks, and fresh-squeezed lemonade.
The Festival will feature live music by hot salsa band Orquesta Timbalero. Orquesta Timbalero was formed by Richard Martinez Jr. in 2003. Martinez has played with some well-known musicians in the Bay Area including Pete Escovedo, the late great piano player Carlos Federico, the Juan Escovedo Band, the late Rico Reyes (formerly with Carlos Santana), the Kool Katz band, Mario Flores Latin Jazz Group, Cuba’s great percussionist Carlos Cato, and piano player Gustavo Ramirez.
