Tri-Valley, California Convention & Visitors Bureau (TVCVB) is proud to welcome the Goodguys “silver anniversary” 25th West Coast Rod & Custom Nationals to the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, CA on August 26-28, 2011. TVCVB is the destination sales and marketing organization for the cities of Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon, Danville and the surrounding region. The West Coast Nationals brings more than 60,000 attendees and an average of $6 million in economic impact to the Tri-Valley region each year. Since Goodguys began hosting the events in the region in 1983, the association has brought a significant economic impact for the Tri-Valley region—more than $539 million. These figures represent money spent by show attendees in restaurants, shops, hotels, and other Tri-Valley businesses during Goodguys events.

For more than two decades, the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association has hosted four shows every year at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton. These large-scale automotive events attract exhibitors and spectators from around the Tri-Valley, throughout California, and even internationally. “We’re so fortunate to have the Goodguys events return year after year to our region,” said Amy Blaschka, President & CEO of the Tri-Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau. “People come from all over the country for their shows, which increases awareness of our destination and brings valuable economic benefits to the community.”

The City of Pleasanton will also recognize the Goodguys’ anniversary at the City Council meeting on August 16, 2011, proclaiming August 22- 28, 2011 as Goodguys Rod & Custom Association’s Hot Rod Week. Pleasanton Mayor Jennifer Hosterman will present the proclamation at a regional mixer of business leaders at the Alameda County Fairgrounds on Thursday, August 25, 2011.

“It has been important for us to continue hosting Goodguys shows in Pleasanton. Our members like the small town atmosphere, historic downtown and the town’s accessibility,” said Goodguys Founder, Gary Meadors. “Our members like to be here. They enjoy the hotels, restaurants and the Alameda County Fairgrounds. They often stay in the Tri-Valley on their way to other Goodguys events on the West Coast.”
