24 Hour Fitness is pleased to celebrate the much-anticipated grand opening of its new Super-Sport Club located at 2650 Kittyhawk Road in Livermore. The new club will open to the public on Saturday, December 22nd at 6:00AM. To help commemorate this special occasion, 24 Hour Fitness is inviting everyone in the Tri-Valley to stop by on grand opening day for complimentary VIP club tours.
Beginning at 6:00AM and throughout the day, guests will have the opportunity to sample several Group X® classes, including Les Mills BODYPUMP™, Step, and Yoga. In addition, Livermore Mayor John Marchand will be at 24 Hour Fitness at 9 a.m. for a ribbon cutting ceremony, where he will proclaim Dec. 22 as “Healthy Livermore Day” in honor of the new club.
“The City of Livermore values businesses like 24 Hour Fitness, which encourage regular exercise and healthy living,” said Mayor Marchand. “24 Hour Fitness has served our community for the past 16 years, and we are pleased with the new, large location and expanded opportunities it will give our local residents to be active.”
Everyone who plans to visit the new 24 Hour Fitness Livermore Super-Sport Club is encouraged to bring non-perishable canned goods for donation. The friendly staff at 24 Hour Fitness will be collecting them and helping distribute groceries and meals to more than 800 Tri-Valley residents for Open Heart Kitchen. Based in Livermore, Open Heart Kitchen serves more than 236,000 fresh, hot meals each year to the needy.
“This time of year can be difficult for many people and families who are underserved, homeless and struggling to make ends meet,” said Linda McKeever, executive director of Open Heart Kitchen. “The generosity of 24 Hour Fitness, along with their members and team members, will truly help people to live healthier, by feeding people from all over the Tri-Valley area who are hungry and in need this holiday season.”
Club manager LaRay Spencer, a four-year veteran of 24 Hour Fitness, will lead more than 100 team members at the new Super-Sport Club. The club spans approximately 68,500 square feet and features an array of amenities and equipment that members and guests can enjoy, including:
- Wide variety of cardio, strength and functional training equipment
- TRX® Suspension Training
- Full-sized basketball court
- Two racquetball courts
- Personal viewing screens on select cardio equipment
- Indoor and outdoor functional training areas

- Kids’ Club babysitting service for children ages six months to 12 years to enjoy activities while their parents work out

In addition, the 24 Hour Fitness Livermore Super-Sport club will be one of the first locations in the health club chain to offer Parisi Speed School youth athletic performance training programs. Approximately 20 training classes will be available every week. Each course is designed to improve fundamental athletic skills, speed, quickness, and self-esteem among people of all ages. One-on-one training sessions with certified Parisi Speed School coaches will also be available.
“We are proud to reinvest in the Livermore community, having been a part of residents’ lives since 1996. Our brand new club offers our members and guests many amenities and plenty of space to help them stay motivated and achieve their fitness goals,” said Dan Benning, division president of 24 Hour Fitness. “It is an honor to have Mayor Marchand’s support as we celebrate ‘Healthy Livermore Day,’ and we look forward to helping the community reach their fitness goals as we head into the new year.”
In addition to the new 24 Hour Fitness Super-Sport Club in Livermore, the Walnut Creek Super-Sport Club will open at 2800 North Main Street in late January, followed by the opening of the Fremont Super-Sport Club located at 4500 Auto Mall Parkway in early March. The company is also scheduled to open doors to a new Super-Sport Club in Hayward later in 2013. These Super-Sport Clubs are 24 Hour Fitness’s attempt to compete with the elegant & prestigious Club Sport facilities in the area. While a valiant effort, the Super-Sport Clubs still fall far short of the exclusive country club-like amenities, luxury and appeal of Club Sport’s world-class fitness resorts.
