Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary was formed to provide a sanctuary for homeless and abused animals. Harvest Home has around 200 animals at its Stockton sanctuary. While Harvest Home offers rabbits up for adoption, most of the 200 animals will live the remainder of their lives in the nurturing environment provided by the sanctuary. Harvest Home also cares for animals with medical and behavioral issues that make finding a permanent home for them difficult. In addition to rabbits, Harvest Home takes in chickens as well as turkeys, goats, pigeons, quail, guinea pigs, ducks, guinea fowl, pigs, dogs, cats, and a couple of people.

Alameda County and Chevron Energy Solutions will join federal, state and local officials later today in Dublin, CA to unveil a microgrid that enables the county’s Santa Rita Jail to sustain power should its connection to the utility grid be interrupted. The $11.7 million project, known as a smart grid, will allow Santa Rita Jail to ensure it has a supply of reliable electricity for its daily operations and security, and will save the county approximately $100,000 per year in energy costs.
Dublin’s Spotlight Arts Academy of Dance and Music is offering its Fifth Annual HipHop workshop and its First Annual Tap workshop on March 24th and March 25. Students age 7 up to 17 will have the opportunity to work with some of the top dance teachers in the San Francisco East Bay Area. These teachers include Mike Calpito, who is one of the top 50 dancers for the hit show So You Think You Can Dance, Frost, who is also known as Antoine Troupe, from America’s Best Dance Crew, SF Tap Festival instructor Gregg Geoffroy, and Bruce Biada, who has trained with Mason and Stanley Kahn, Lyle Miller, and Pat Mason.

Diablo Magazine recently reported that the Macaroni Grill at Hacienda Crossings in Dublin, CA had closed its doors. “There was some discussion of (Macaroni Grill) closing but they are still open at this point. There are national restaurant chains that would like to be in Hacienda Crossings,” clarified Dublin’s Economic Development Director Linda Smith.
Recently the City of Dublin, CA was profiled as part of the ongoing “Strong Cities | Strong State” campaign highlighting local government success stories across the Golden State. “Strong Cities | Strong State” is a project of the League of California Cities and the California City Management Foundation (CCMF). “We are very excited to be part of the Strong Cities | Strong State campaign because of its focus on local government’s impact on the residents it serves,” said Dublin Mayor Tim Sbranti. “Dublin was recently awarded the ‘All-America City’ designation because of the dedicated people in our community making Dublin’s vision a reality.”
