High School Data
The Dublin High School Fact Sheet for the 2008-2009 school year is a one-page summary produced by the Around Dublin Team using publicly available data from the California Department of Education (CDE) and School Wise Press. In our report we compared key statistics from Dublin High School to state averages, county averages, and key statistics from Mission San Jose High School. Mission San Jose High School was chosen as a point of reference, because it has been recognized nationally in the U.S. News & World Report as one of the top 100 high schools in the country. In addition, Fremont Unified School District has elected to use School Wise Press in fulfilling its reporting requirement, thus making data comparison between Dublin High School and Mission San Jose High School straightforward.

The CDE has been collecting basic data on students and teachers for each school year since 1980. The resulting data repository is called the California Basic Educational Data System (CBEDS). Over the years local educational agencies and government organizations have used this database in their funding, research, program planning, and policy decisions. Thanks to the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), parents are entitled to more information than ever before about the quality of their children’s schools. Under NCLB, school districts are required to prepare and distribute an annual report card on their performance as a condition of receiving federal funding.
School Wise Press is a publishing company that specializes in helping school districts meet the reporting requirements mandated by NCLB. School Wise Press produces a one-page report card that distills key metrics on test scores, teachers, students, API, and other publicly available information from the CBEDS.
Our summary is available in both Traditional Chinese (繁體中文) and English. We would like to thank Around Dublin reader George Wu for his invaluable help in proofreading the Traditional Chinese edition of our report.
