Donald Trump has officially announced his third election campaign for the 2024 Presidential election. Trump had announced during his Save America rally on Nov 7, 2022, that he will be making a “big announcement” on Nov 15, 2022, at his Mar-a-Lago resort. And as expected, this announcement was related to Trump’s Presidential election campaign. However, due to the defeat of the Republican party in the Senate elections, it will be crucial to see how many republicans stand alongside the ex-president of the US. Despite all this, Trump is looking extremely positive about the 2024 Presidential election.
Donald Trump has been active in US politics since his loss against current president Joe Biden. Trump has been acting against the President of the US, Joe Biden and the Democratic party through his “Make America Great Again” or the MAGA movement. Through this movement, Trump has been actively bashing the current government and how it has continuously failed in addressing the “real” problems of the American people. Although similar phrases have been used in the past by other political leaders, Trump is the one who has made the phrase popular and has been using it in his political rallies and content. On May 4, 2022, President Joe Biden addressed Trump's accusations against Biden through the MAGA movement stating that the MAGA movement is the most extreme organization that has ever existed in American history. He also said that Trump and his supporters represent extremism which is damaging to the country’s foundations. However, as a part of his MAGA movement, Trump has been taking the Save America rallies all over the country. In his recent Save America rally, Trump targeted President Biden, his current legislation related to immigrants, and the increasing crimes against local Americans due to the improper handling of immigrants by the Biden Administration.
Trump said during his announcement at Mar-a-Lago resort that he is announcing his candidacy for the president of the US to make America great again. He further said that similar to 2016, he will be the voice of the people, even though the government is trying to silence their voices. Trump said that the MAGA movement is not about politics, but about our love for our country and he will not let it fail in any way. Although Trump has had a remarkable impact on American politics, it seems unlikely that he will be winning the 2024 presidential election. No president has been able to recapture the White House after losing it, and it seems like ex-president Donald Trump will be no exception.
The 2022 Midterm elections have proved that the US citizens are still largely against their ex-president and want no part of him in US politics. The majority of the Republican representatives who were backed by Donald Trump in Senate elections have lost. Upon examining the voting patterns, the majority of voters voted against Republicans mainly in opposition to Trump. This shows that Trump's involvement in the Midterm elections ruined the elections for his party. Because of these results, many are saying that Trump has little to no chance of getting back into the White House.
